KENTUCKY DERBY AND CINCO de MAYO in one weekend. WOW- lots of margaritas and good Mexican food yesterday and Mint Juleps today. How about you? Are you in the mood for vaqueros, senoritas and horses? If so, I have just the book for you. Taming Maria is one of the first few books I penned. I've learned a lot since then, but there's still a good story here, lots of loving and spanking, vaqueros and senoritas.
In Taming Maria, the long awaited marriage between Maria Elena Bartolá and Juan Antonio Cabrillo eventually takes place. The business interests of the Bartolá's include cattle, horses, and farming, with the Cabrillo family focusing on the raising and breeding of cattle. The story is set in California during the 1940's, amidst a backdrop of ranches and vineyards and two childhood sweethearts destined to become lovers. But the handsome Juan is fully aware that his bride-to-be is headstrong and tempestuous. It seems the only sure way to tame her is to give her a well-deserved spanking! The couple face hardship, adventure, personal tragedy and long periods of separation ... but there are some things in life that are worth waiting for.
"Maria, What are you doing in there?"
"I'm getting dressed Papa."
"Everybody is here and waiting for you."
"Well, I'm the bride and without me, there is no wedding, so let them wait."
"Maria, I'm warning you. If you are not downstairs in ten minutes, I am going to.."
"Going to what, Papa?"
"Send up Juan. He knows how to deal with you."
She smiled at the thought of Juan coming upstairs. The hell with the old wives tale, Juan would appreciate seeing her in lacy bra, panties and garter belt holding up her silk stockings. She'd even do a little pirouette with her high heels to give him the full view. He would threaten to take her over his knee if she didn't behave. 'I might have to dawdle a little longer. Nothing like a bride blushing with the afterglow of a spanking .'
