We were at my Aunt and Uncle’s and I went into the barn chasing the kittens and found my cousin, whom I adored, hanging from the rafters. I remember screaming and nothing else. Apparently, in my haste to get out of there, my foot got caught in a rope, and I tripped, fell and hit my head and passed out. When I awoke, I couldn’t see. The head injury is long gone, and I’ve been examined by specialists all across the country, but I still cannot see. There is no physical evidence of any damage so it’s been diagnosed as psychological. I spent years in therapy to no avail until at 18, I finally said enough and was old enough to make my own decisions."
