W is for Westerns

If you haven't already guessed, I love westerns.  I have since I was a little girl and convinced myself I was going to grow up to marry Roy Rogers. Half of you probably don't even know Roy Rogers.
I don't know what I thought was going to happen to Dale Evans, but I didn't care. In the real world, Roy Rogers was born Leonard Slye in Ohio, not the dashing singing cowboy of movies and the TV show.  Hell, I ready somewhere that the Roy Rogers Museum has moved from Apple Valley CA to Branson MO where his beloved Trigger is probably stuffed with roast beef sandwiches.  Are there still Roy Rogers Roast Beef stands around?

Anything having to do with the west or westerns has been a lifelong passion.  So the fact that I write western romance isn't a big leap for me. Except now instead of Roy Rogers, I picture a whole different kind of cowboy. There's something about a cowboy that excites me, the romantic fantasy of a dashing 'aw shucks' guy with manners, who knows how to treat a lady but can go wrestle a steer to the ground.  Someone who can string barb wire, deliver a calf, and still have sweet smelling sweat.  So I write my fantasy.

If you're looking to cozy up to a cowboy may I suggest checking out Ken, Jude, JaceHank.  Let's not forget about Caleb, Randy, Luke, Josh, Clint and several others you can find on the pages of my stories and novellas.  They're over on the right, you just have to click.

  4. Hi Sunny, I love the kind of cowboy you write about. As a child I enjoyed watching westerns together with my dad, but nowadays i prefer cowboys like the one in the picture. Yummy.

  5. I love cowboys too, but I have never met any. I remember The Sisco Kid, Rin Tin Tin, Tenderfoot, Wagon Train, Hopalong Cassidy, Roy Rogers and of course the good old Lone Ranger. I think I much prefer the cowboy in your photograph! LOL!

    Hugs
