J is for

Up to the tough letters now.  J - I tried thinking of something clever for this letter and nothing came to mind besides joy.  Not that I think joy is not special, but it's overdone (like the word according to Grammarly).  So my brain kept on clicking away, and I thought about names.  As a writer, you are always naming characters.  Long before I became published, I wrote a story on my other blog every Monday, still do.  That adds up to at least one character a week for the last 20 months or so.  I went back through the archives and realized I tend to use some names over and over.  Does it mean I have an affinity to these names-maybe? The reality is when I'm thinking of naming a character,  I write what first comes to mind. For whatever reason, I tend to stay away from common names like Joey, or Jimmy or Johnny, and instead use names like Jude and Jace and Jesse.  Does it mean these names/characters strike a chord with me?  I don't think so because I found myself quite surprised to find them appearing over and over again for different characters. Now, that I'm aware of that, I will
have to pay more attention to the names I give characters.

If you want to help me out I have a tendency toward J and C, so if you can think of any names I can use, please let me know?

  3. Hi Sunny, I like Jude, it has a nice sound and makes me think of Jude Law. :) Jocelyn, Jane/Janet are some more that I like, probably because I connect the names with some very nice people. :)

    1. Thank you - those are some great new names to add to my list. I think Josh is the only one I've used before.

      Glad you enjoy my stories.
