Melody agreed to accompany Ken on a visit to his ranch in Colorado. They are still in the getting to know each other stage and Melody is not her best first thing in the morning. Ken finds her in the kitchen in a tee-shirt and panties and likes what he sees. She is making coffee and needs the caffeine to become something other than a grump. Ken finds this out the hard way. He kisses her and even though she kisses him back without that coffee he's treading on soft ground. He takes her to his bedroom.
"If you don’t want me to go any further, tell me now, otherwise I am going to make love to you.”
“No, I am not ready.”
“Well, aren’t you the tease?” Ken said jokingly.
“Don’t you dare to call me that. I wasn’t the one who started this; I was just in the kitchen to get a cup of coffee. You are the one who came in and wouldn’t let me go. You just asked me to tell you how I felt, and I did, so don’t go calling me names” she said snippily.
“I was teasing. There’s no need to get all snippy Melody. I didn’t think it would get you all riled up. If you say no, the answer is no. I will tell you though that brattiness doesn’t sit well with me, and if you keep it up, you won’t be sitting comfortably. And this time I am not joking?”
“Don’t you go threatening me, Mr. Kendall Burke. I am not your wife; I am not even your girlfriend yet so don’t go getting all macho with me.”
“If you were my wife or girlfriend, you would already be over my knee getting your bottom reddened,” he said as he turned and walked away.
