Saturday Spanking

Well, it's Labor Day weekend and I am laboring.  It is infinitely better than being in labor but getting this post up has been a chore - have no idea why.  Will anyone be by to visit? After all, it is the last official weekend of the summer, at least here in the US.  When I was younger and spent summers at the shore, this was the absolute best time, great weather and the tourists were gone.

Well, I'm not young anymore and not at the shore, so I guess I'll take you to At the End of the Rainbow.  After a grueling 18-month work schedule in support of a political campaign in Washington DC, 33 year-old Melody Townsend decided to spend some time with her sister’s family at their ranch in Montana.  Surprisingly, she meets her brother-in-law’s brother-in-law and sparks fly.

In last weeks snippet we left off where Ken and Melody had a disagreement about her pre-caffeine attitude.  She got a little too snippy for Ken and he walked off in a huff.  Once the caffeine had settled in, Melody realized she may have crossed a line and decides to seek out Ken and apologize.

“Yes, I am sorry for before.  I like you; I really do;  I’m just not sure I could commit to what it is you expect.  I’m used to being in charge of me and not living up to someone else’s expectations and consequences if I fail to meet those expectations.”

“Will you listen to what you just said?  Did you not have a job where you had to live up to someone’s expectations of you?  Would there not have been consequences if you didn’t meet those expectations,” he asked?

The truth of that statement took her by surprise.

“You are right; I never thought of it like that.  Can you forgive me and give us a fresh start?"

Does Ken accept Melody's apology?  Is Melody ready to move forward in this relationship and accept Ken's leadership and consequences?  Find out in At the End of the Rainbow available in all digital formats at LSF Publications.

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the weekend.  Before you go, be sure to visit the other author's listed below.  They have some great books to offer.

  2. I think he'll forgive her, but I've got feeling it involves a spanking. Nice snippet.

I too am laboring on Labor Day. When I was in the corporate world, Labor Day was the last 3 day weekend of summer. When I was a kid, we always started school the Tuesday after Labor Day. Now kids seem to start in the middle of August. Labor Day means fall is coming.

Try not to labor too long and enjoy some of the last official weekend of the summer.

  4. I'm imagining he'll forgive her and move on to wonderful things - of course I've already read the book and loved it. I'm not laboring hard this weekend, mostly recovering from last week.

  6. Her brother-in-law's brother-in-law? I liked that! I am sure he will forgive her, now that she has had her coffee.

I live at the shore and can't wait for all these tourists to go home, then we get to have "local's summer" I might even get to the beach :) Hope you have a great weekend!

    1. That's funny, but you would have to spell a word wrong for it to be Spam.:-)

A very logical one, don't you think?

  11. I love this premise and your snippet Leigh. Like Cara, I'm sure he'll forgive her but not until she's paid the price with a spanking :)
