TAMING MARIA is set in California during the 1940's amidst a backdrop of vineyards and ranches and has two childhood sweethearts destined to become lovers. The couple face hardship, adventure, personal tragedy and long period of separation...but there are some things in life worth waiting for.
In this scene, Juan has asked Maria's father for permission to marry her. Overhearing the conversation, she is upset that Juan had the temerity to talk with her father before talking with her. She expresses her displeasure by kneeing his groin and he reciprocates by spanking her.
Looking him square in the eye, she told him, "I would not marry you if you were the last man on earth. Get out of my sight."
"I will let you cool down Maria, but I will be back and make no mistake, you WILL marry me."
"Don't be holding your breath!"
He gathered his things and walked out the front door. Maria was fuming and her bottom was throbbing. Damn him, how dare he spank me. She went in search of her father and found him out in the stables.
"How could you let him treat me that way? Do you not love me?"
